락현재(樂炫齋)

ROCKHYUNJAE (樂炫齋)

논어 태백편에 興於詩 立於禮 成於樂(흥어시 입어례 성어악)이란 구절이 있습니다. 사람의 성정에 근본을 둔 시(詩)는 마음을 일으키지만 결국은 예(禮)를 거쳐 최고의 경지인 풍류(樂)에 이르러서야 완성된다고 했습니다. 락현재(樂炫齋)는 그러한 옛 현자의 깨달음과 즐거움, 감동(樂)이 미술이라는 매개체로 충만하고 빛나는(炫) 공간(齋)으로 꾸며 나가고자 합니다.

자연이 선물한 빛과 색의 조화로 사람의 감정이나 뜻을 전달하는 미술 작품은 이 세상을 살아가는 동시대인들의 아름다움에 대한 생각을 나누는 소중한 존재입니다. 락현재는 한국 전통의 미감과 형식에 현대적 감각을 접목하거나, 화폭 위에 새로운 시대의 흐름과 기술을 적용하는 등 색다른 시각과 조형미로 세상을 이해하고 표현하는 작가들과 함께 컨템포러리 아트의 가능성을 탐구하고 있습니다.

Confucius said “Be aroused by poetry; structure yourself with propriety, refine yourself with music.” (興於詩 立於禮 成於樂).” Inspired by human nature, poetry may arouse people’s heart, but the most joyful state of mind we can reach is 樂, meaning music or happiness and delight. At ROCKHYUNJAE, we will shine our gallery with the enlightenment, joy, and emotions through the medium of art as old sage once described.

Our selected artists graft modern senses with traditional Korean aesthetics and forms, or apply latest trends and technology of a new era on canvas.

In addition to organizing special exhibitions, we actively participate in art fairs in Korea and around the world, through which we exchange our inspirations with world-class art industry.
